Common University Entrance Test (CUET) Syllabus

Syllabus for CUET 

The syllabus for CUET 2025 will be based on the NCERT textbooks for the 12th standard examination. The syllabus for the subject-specific tests will be provided by the participating universities and colleges.

How is the CUET Subjects List 2025 Grouped?

The CUET Exam offers great flexibility, allowing you to select sections that align with your preferred college and CUET course requirements. The CUET UG subjects are divided into three sections:

  • In Section II, you can select from 23 domain-specific subjects based on your interests and career goals.
  • While it’s not mandatory to choose subjects from every section, your selection should align with the eligibility criteria of your target universities.
  • Carefully review the subject combinations required by your preferred universities to maximize your chances of admission.

How do you select subjects from the CUET list of subjects?

When selecting the subjects from the CUET subjects list, there are key considerations that every candidate should consider.

Here’s a breakdown of what you need to know regarding the subject list of CUET: 

  • University Requirements: Make sure your choices closely align with the prerequisites of your chosen courses and CUET universities. CUET subject selection of Languages, Domain-Specific Subjects, and General Tests must harmonize with the university’s expectations. 
  • Interdisciplinary Subjects: Some domain-specific subjects in the CUET exam subject list are cross-disciplinary. These subjects will have two sections: Section A, which is compulsory for all, and Section B, which may contain multiple sub-sections. You can choose one or more sub-sections from Section B, depending on your program or university’s criteria. 
  • Matching Standards: It’s essential to ensure that your chosen subjects from the CUET subject list follow your preferred university’s standards. This alignment will reflect your understanding of the university’s requirements and enhance your candidacy.
